Strum, the free home of South African Music

Strum is a full house artist brand company. A lot of buzzwords that don't necessarily mean much. At it's core lies a set of services aimed at building, promoting and refining the image of specific artists and bands that the public has, while providing advice, counsel and guidance on all aspects of entertainment.

The aim of Strum is to provide bands with a coordinated and holistic service that will allow them to focus more on the music, leaving Strum to handle the business and logistical side of things on their behalf, the more mundane roles that most artists don't want to deal with.

Current bands using Strum's services are Fragmented Children, Nixon Creep, Kudegra, Exit Stranger, Empery and more.

In addition to this, Strum is currently running the Strum Showdown, a battle of the bands at Street Cafe, Edenvale.

Strum and Street Cafe are proud to bring you the Strum Showdown. A battle that works for the bands. The entry rounds will be happening every Wednesday night at Street Cafe with a limit of 5 bands per night. Two bands from each entry round will go through to the monthly finals, held on a Sunday. Two bands from each monthly final will go through to the main finals, where they'll be competing for some awesome prizes.

Dar Kwan Photography, maoBANDprint, Red Stripes Productions and ACM Studios have all chipped in to provide the ultimate branding package to the winners. The winning band will be given a free photoshoot by Dar Kwan Photography, a top class website by Red Stripes Productions, a stunning professional logo by ACM Studios and a set of custom banners by maoBANDprint. The winner will also receive a full year free using Strum's booking agency service. All in all, the prizes are valued at R16000. Any band that does make it into the final won't be left empty handed, a score of prizes will be given out to all the competing bands there.

There is a small administrative fee of R100 for each band playing in the entry rounds and guests are charged at a mere R10 each. Crowd voting is a factor in the competition, the votes being treated as the opinion of the 5th judge so make sure to get your loyal supporters there. The first band will start at 8pm and it will all be wrapped up by 11pm, so those of you that do have to work don't need to worry too much about late nights.

The Strum Showdown is currently running, every Wednesday at Street Cafe with monthly finals at the end of the month. The first entry round is done and the first two bands for the monthly final are Nevame and Pussy Cat Trolls. The second entry round is happening on Wednesday the 16th and slots are open.
